Structured vs. unstructured

Garment-washed cotton styles like The Classic are unstructured with an adjustable buckle, so one size comfortably fits most heads. Performance poly styles use a micro-Velcro elastic loop strap and run in defined size ranges.

Sun hats

The Spackler and Rhobucket come in two fitted sizes with UPF 50+ brims. If you are between hat sizes, take the larger for all-day comfort.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape measure, keep it flat and horizontal to the ground, and don’t pull it too tight.

Chest

Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest with arms lowered, flat across your body and horizontal to the ground.

Waist

Wrap the tape around the smallest part of your waist — usually at or just above the belly button, where your body bends side to side.

Hip

Standing with feet hip-width apart, wrap the tape around the widest part of your hips, keeping it flat and level.

Inseam

Standing straight with no shoes on, measure the inside of the leg from the groin to the ankle bone. Measure both legs and take the average.
